Brian Wahlstrom singing and playing piano
San Diego & Southern California

Private Event Pianist & Vocalist

Music shaped around the people, the room and the reason everyone is together.

Personal without being formal

Music That Reads the Room

A private event can need elegant background music, a favorite song performed for one person, or a roomful of guests singing together. The performance can move naturally between those roles.

Brian performs piano and vocals as a solo act, with options to add another singer, drums, a second pianist or DJ service. Song requests and the desired energy are discussed before the event, then adjusted in real time as the gathering unfolds.

Birthdays & Anniversaries

Favorite songs, standards, piano-bar requests and personal musical moments for milestone celebrations at homes, restaurants, clubs and event spaces.

02

Music that begins as part of the atmosphere and can become more interactive as guests settle in. Volume and energy are tailored to the space.

03

Celebrations of Life

Thoughtful piano and vocal music selected around the person being remembered, with careful coordination around speakers, readings and the flow of the gathering.

The setup

Designed for Real Spaces

Private homes and nontraditional venues do not need to supply a piano. Brian can bring an 88-key weighted digital piano in an elegant mini-grand shell, a professional PA, wireless microphones and lighting. The standard performance footprint is compact, and the system is scaled to the room and guest count.

A Simple Planning Process

01

Send the Basics

The first message only needs the date, city, occasion and a general idea of the music. Exact times and production details can come later.

02

Shape the Set

Discuss favorite artists, must-play songs, the guest mix and whether the performance should stay subtle or become interactive.

03

Confirm the Space

Brian coordinates access, setup, power, sound level and timing with you, the host, venue or planner before the event.

Common questions

Private Event FAQ

Can you perform at a private home without a piano?

Yes. Brian can bring a weighted digital piano, mini-grand shell, sound system and lighting. A venue piano can also be used when it is in good condition.

Can guests make requests?

Yes. Requests can be part of an interactive piano-bar style set, while quieter gatherings can use a planned repertoire with only selected special songs.

Can the music remain quiet enough for dinner?

Yes. The sound system is scaled to the room, and piano or piano-and-vocal sets can remain at a conversational level before increasing later if desired.

What information do you need for a quote?

Start with the date, city, type of event and services you are considering. Guest count, exact times and production details can be added after the initial conversation.
